I stand in awe of a calming sight,

Shimmering sands are a pure delight.

The Ocean so eclectic and vast,

A captivating spell is cast.

With every bucketful, scooped with care.

The grateful earth breathes in fresh air.

Trash disappears from the sandy shore,

A ripple appears, bringing hope and more.

Tranquil sea, now churning white,

I forge ahead, through day’s fading light.

Ocean creatures, in silent stare,

My furrowed brow reflects the care.

They emerge with grace,

Meet me face- to- face.

Abruptly glancing side to side,

Do they need to hide?

Disquiet looks on their faces,

I want to curl them in warm embraces.

Faces grim, a look of distress,

Telling of the tragedy and the upcoming mess.

The story begins, voices laden with lamentation,

I listen intently in anticipation.

An intricate story woven in sorrow,

Words expressing worries for the morrow.

Eyes reminisce of a joyous day.

“A tragedy”,

They softly say,

“Will cast a shadow on our day”.

Exquisite voice, music to my ears,

Calamity ascending, brings me tears.

Unhappiness makes me gasp for breath,

Are we the ones who bring upon their death?

“Depths of the water, our once buoyant home,

we no longer freely roam.

Deprived of hope, deprived of glee,

in despair, we yearn to be.”

Beneath the waves, the ocean cries,

Warming waters, a silent rise.

Corals bleach, vibrant hues fade,

Changing tides, our abode betrayed.

Currents shift, our roots erased,

Rising temperatures leave us displaced.

From polar ice to coral reefs, we feel the strain,

Every ripple echoes of climate’s reign.

“Our home in jeopardy

What is the remedy?

Heat is on the rise,

increasingly dire skies.”

My eyes ablaze, with a burning rage,

Must arise from this dying stage.

Helpless creatures, filled with fright,

I’ll fight for them, with all my might.

Luminous shells, cool ocean waves,

My heart set on a daring chase.

Arduous deed, I will see it through,

No turning back, there is much to do.

The Shadow of Death creeps ever near,

But strength will make our future clear.

Hope’s light will pierce the coming gloom,

Guiding our path, dispelling doom.

“I will not let you down”,

Driven to efface their frown.

Inspired, diligent, and tireless hand,

Make a change significant and grand.

Spread awareness, far and wide,

From darkest nadir to sunlit tide.

Let’s heal, mend, and repair,

High time for action and care.

This changing world needs forceful changemakers,

This Ocean needs nurturing caretakers.

Holistic and beneficial policies to enact,

Eradicate malpractice and harm, make it easy to adapt.

Fossil fuels, excessive energy consumption,

Leading to ocean warming and acidification.

Embrace and switch to green, the path is clear,

Solar, wind, hydro, the future is here.

Fish with care, let oceans thrive,

Aquaculture keeps species alive.

Sustainable farming brings bounty back,

Ocean life flourishes, comes back on track.

Deep we search, in sorrow’s hold,

Hope still flickers, brave and bold.

Ocean’s pain, a story told,

Act now to make a bright future unfold.

The promise of pleasure may spark a desire,

Healed ocean to be humanity’s new attire.

Now is the time for united humanity,

To battle for prosperity!
